Success isn't only about grades, talent, or what a student does. It's about who they become. The Leadership Academy combines consistent mentorship with intentional experiences that challenge students to grow personally, academically and professionally.

Accountability, encouragement, guidance, and consistent support throughout each student's journey.
Academic Success
Goal setting, academic accountability, study habits, progress monitoring and support.
Leadership Development
Confidence, communication, decision-making, teamwork, emotional intelligence and servant leadership.
Personal Development
Discipline, responsibility, professionalism, financial literacy, time management and life readiness.
Career Exploration
Hands-on exposure to careers and real experiences through Behind the U and community opportunities.
HOW IT WORKS
One Focus. Four Weeks. Real Accountability.
Each month centers around a development topic. Students don't simply hear a lesson—they are challenged to practice it, track it, discuss it and take ownership of their progress.
WEEK 01
Learn & Commit
Main Leadership Academy session. Introduce the month's development focus, discuss why it matters and assign the monthly challenge
WEEK 03
Check In
Virtual accountability session to review progress, academics, challenges and what needs to improve before the month ends.
WEEK 02
Practice & Apply
Students apply the lesson during the week, complete responsibilities and begin building the skill into their routine.
WEEK 04
Reflect & Own It
Students evaluate their progress, discuss what worked, identify what didn't and determine how the skill carries forward.
EXAMPLE MONTH: TIME MANAGEMENT
Create a 7-day planner → update it weekly → review consistency → reflect on results.

Career exploration is one of the Leadership Academy's core pillars, but the full Behind the U experience lives on its own dedicated page. Leadership Academy members are introduced to career possibilities here, then can explore pathways, departments, hands-on projects and experiential learning in greater depth through Behind the U.
